Dart Flight School Berlin - Codelab & Hackathon

Dart has reached version 1.0 recently marking it ready for production use. Since there was a lot of interest in this new language by Google we are going to do it right: You are going to learn how to build cool stuff during our code lab and then use your new found skills to build even cooler stuff in the 6 hours-hackathon.

After this you'll be ready to start your next project in Dart. Try it out now here.

09:00 Open Doors, Registration, Welcome

10:00 Start of the Hands on Code Lab: Dart or AngularDart

13:00 Lunch break

14:00 Hackathon starts

20:00 Hackathon ends, demos, award ceremony

21:00 End of the event, let's go to a bar and play some #dart

You can also join our event on Google+ for sharing photos and stay connected: https://plus.google.com/events/c47sj5f3ftel0mpmv5031u0rfjs

In order to make this fly you'll need:

• interest in learning a new language

• basic programming skills (Java and Javascript help the most, others are still useful) - We won't teach you how to program!

• your own computer

git installed

• the Dart SDK + Editor from dartlang.org + optional the Dart Plugin for JetBrains IDEs (IDEA, Webstorm, PHPStorm). The code lab will refer to the Eclipse based Dart Editor though. Please not that Windows XP is NOT supported by the SDK.

Some code labs might require additional things. We will update the list. Please check it again shortly before the event!

WANTED: speakers & coaches

With a large group of hungry learners we could use every help we can get. Are you interested in lending a hand or leading people through the code lab? Please ping us at [masked]

Hey! Was great fun yesterday - thank you to everyone who voted for us! Here's the repo from our hack, if you'd like to play with it. There's a link to a demo there too, which works in webkitish browsers (chrome, safari etc) https://github.com/dazld/dart-pl...

I really wanted to come, but I am outside Germany for few next days :(. I've changed my RSVP status.

Let's hope there will be more Dart meetups! I wish you a great meetup and have a fantastic time! ;-)

We just upgraded the seats to 70 which allowed 10 people to move up from the waiting list to "Yes". From prior events we know that not always people cancel their RSVP when their plans change so we want to make sure others can take their spot anyway. If this overbooking fails it'll be just a bit cosier and we'll be happy to have a few more people with us!

We received some sweet swag for our event from Google. Partly they'll be attendance badges, partly hackathon prices. Check out the photo!
