Join Good Eats and Meets for the 8th Annual FESTA ITALIANA CHARLOTTE

The 8th Annual Festa Italiana Charlotte is on! Once again presenting Charlotte with the very best Italian foods, wines and entertainment in its annual Sunday afternoon festival, The Festa Italiana shares some of “la bella vita” with us all for the benefit of charity.

Join Chris as he asks as a host for the Good Eats and Meets group.  We will have our own table for the group.  Look for him.  I hate it, but I will be away on business and will miss the festivities.

The Festa takes place this year on May 19, 2013 in the beautiful setting of Queen’s University of Charlotte. Guest chefs from Italy, appetizers and drinks from Charlotte’s best Italian restaurants, chefs and purveyors, and live musical entertainment combine with family-friendly activities such as BYOB (means “Bring Your Own Bocce” in Italian) and a kid zone. Not to be missed: our elegant silent auction and art show! The Festa Italiana has become an Italian food and wine destination where guests will sample Italian foods and wines well-established and new to Charlotte.

Fine restaurants such as Blue, Osso, Vivace and Fiamma have jumped in, contributing their best appetizers and fine food ingredients to share; local businesses like The Coffee Boss and Pasta and Provisions have generously provided espressos and cappuccinos and ingredients for the cannoli; Brooklyn South Pizzeria bakes their delicious pizza on-site; Peroni supplies the beer; and many more businesses and individuals contribute their time, resources and talent to make the Festa a fun, fabulous afternoon celebrating great food and wine!

Discounted early bird pricing is open through April 19 and there are special rates for children as well as reserved VIP tables. Join us in saying "Ciao for Charities" and reserve today to take advantage of early discounts!

Hey guys, without buying a VIP table there is no assigned seating, so I am going to bring a GEAM sign and get there early for people to meet. Usually the non-VIP tables only seat 4, so we won't necessarily all be able to sit together, but at least you'll know where some of us are!

Is there a meeting place for this? I am new to the group, so I don't know who to look for.

I'm looking forward to seeing you and your large group, too! I went to this event two years ago and I cannot recommend it more highly! Besides my members from singles groups I will be bringing my two teenagers! I told them they'd better be hungry after church tomorrow since they would be eating and in style! Love all the great chefs and restaurants which will be donating their wares! Ya gotta love it!!!

I am expecting fifteen guests from Charlotte Wine Club, Ground Zero Singles Over 40, Lake Norman Wine Enthusiasts and Ballantyne Crew. That's a memo. Hehehe!

Everyone please go ahead and register yourselves individually so we can count you! From the FESTA website click BUY TICKETS and it will take you to the online registration page. You can still pay at the door, but for a true count of our numbers we would appreciate everyone registering in advance so we know to expect you and have enough wine, beer and food for everyone! :) Thank you and feel free to let me know any questions at all! See you at the FESTA!

I have posted this one on other groups and will probably have ten besides my party (more or less) coming. I have already bought four tickets but I will encourage the other members to go ahead and get their tickets online.

HI, I would like to try this event. How are we booking the slots together for a VIP table or individually ?
Please let me know. Should we directly go to www.festaitalianacharlotte.org and buy tickets ?

Hello! Yes, PLEASE DO register directly from the FESTA website - that's the correct url. We need to be able to count everyone who is attending so we have enough food, wine and beer :) ! You don't need to pay when you register, you can say you will pay at the door or send a check. The meet-up will have a table with a sign at the FESTA where you will find each other, but you do need to register individually. Let me know any questions and looking forward to seeing you there!

Thanks Patricia! We really think it's worth the price too! It's easy to spend $60 on food and drink these days, and at the Festa it is being served by the Chefs themselves, not to mention being all you can eat (and drink)! :) Plus all the activities and entertainment, to your point. The Kids Zone this year will be AWESOME. If you are on our email list you will have seen the last email that went out featuring the Kids Zone. Thanks so much for your support!

Quite right! AND you're getting lunch AND dinner! Quite a great deal! I'd do this once a month if they held it frequently!
