Gourmet on a Budget Cooking Class – Pizza/Flatbread/Focaccia
Due to the popularity of the last class that I taught, I'm going to have another one!
Why spend a lot of money on substandard pizza and flatbread when you can make your own? People don’t realize how easy, inexpensive, and fast it is to make gourmet food on a budget. Impress your friends and family and learn how to make these into appetizers, main meals, and deserts. (For example an appetizer pizza may be made with fresh figs/goat cheese/dates/honey, a main meal flatbread may be BBQ chicken, and a desert pizza may be Nutella and bananas! Focaccia can be made with thinly sliced onions/rosemary/and olive oil.)
This class will teach you the basics and will show you how different flavor combinations can make unique and exciting flavor profiles because this ain’t yo momma’s pizza, this is gourmet food! You don't have to be a good cook to attend.
I will show you how to make a lot of different items and you will get to try all of them so be prepared to EAT!
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." - Chinese Proverb
The class is a $20 donation and is well worth it since you will be an expert gourmet food maker at the end of it! PLEASE ONLY SIGN UP IF YOU ARE CERTAIN THAT YOU WILL ATTEND! Payment will need to be made in advance using a paypal account that I will furnish you. Please BYOB if you care to as I will not be furnishing alcohol.
Basic pizza dough recipes can be found anywhere but we will be using a pre-made dough (that is bomb diggity and you can have on hand to use whenever the mood strikes you).
A little about Rhonda: Some of you may already know her and have tasted her food since cooking is her passion. She has traveled extensively to 29 countries and she takes a bit here and there and creates unique dishes. Therefore, most of the food she makes is not traditional but a fusion of different cultures. She is not classically trained but is a product of the world and the wonderful flavors that come from it.
Some comments from the last class were:
"Amazing. I left so incredibly full and tried pizza that I would never have tried on my own. The dessert pizza was delicious! The company was wonderful! Thank you Rhonda for hosting such a fun event."
" Awesome fun...fabulous food and a really fun group!"
