Good Day Good Eaters,
I am sending this message out to all of the folks in Good Eats and Meets. I wanted to take a moment to give thanks for all of you for being part of Good Eats and Meets. I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoy the rest of the weekend. The group has continued to grow and grow, but I want to apologize for a few things. There have been a lack of strictly dining events on the calendar as of late- things on my end have been crazy for most of the year. I have a new work position that keeps me so very busy and traveling a ton. I do appreciate some of you taking the initiative to set up your events and hosting them on their own. These events are sorely lacking and we truly need more ideas and events on the calendar. These are always welcome and greatly appreciated. Come on people, we have over 3,500 people in the group and even if 10% percent of the group is willing to host/organize/lead an event, that would mean an event almost every day of the year!
I have a few things that I'm working on that I hope will get posted soon. Many are Holiday related and in some cases, I would need hosts to help us share these events with the group. If you have a favorite place in town or want to try a place, don't be shy! Let's put it on the calendar.
This year has brought about a lot of change in the restaurant scene in CLT. The DNC has raised an awareness to the burgeoning dining and socializing scene in town. Some of them went away while others started. I am just thankful for the abundance of places to try and great people to try them with. Who is ready to get their dining, drinking and socializing groove on?
You might have noticed some changes to the site. I am in the process of revamping the entire page and you will love the finished product. We have a new LOGO! This was needed to have Good Eats and Meets stand out by creating a new, fresh and visual logo. We have sister Good Eats and Meets locations in 5 other cities around the US (Atlanta, Columbia, Greenville, Miami and Washington DC) and they will all be using the same logo as well.
Lots of changes and I am looking forward to eating, drinking and spending time with you soon!
