Eat Local/Drink Local Farm To Fork-Dinner Series @The Ballantyne Hotel

Join Good Eats & Meets for one of our best dinners of the year!...eat and drink some of the best that The Carolina's has to offer...come on, you know you want to! Below is the information about our great dinner.

Good Eats and Meets” is helping support local Carolina farms, growers, vineyards, breweries, restaurants and businesses by introducing the "Eat Local/Drink Local-Carolina's Farm to Fork Dinner Series". We are... very proud to present our next participating restaurant and partner-The Ballantyne Hotel-The Gallery Reataurant. The idea is simple, the chefs will prepare a meal using ONLY locally sourced items. Produce from local farms, meat from a local grower and the wine and beer will come from a local brewery and winery. The chefs will then use their culinary talents to prepare an amazing meal, using all fresh local ingredients! The meal will be paired with local beer and wine so that the flavors play off each other to tempt, tease, and tantalize our taste-buds. The Ballantyne Hotel and The Gallery will be serving the BEST local products to feature in the dinner-this will be a four couse meal. The Gallery Restaurant is The Forbes Four Star Gallery Restaurant and Wine Spectator Award of Excellence and we are very honored to have our dinner here.

So, come out for a night of incredible food and see what The Eat Local/Drink Local Dinner Series is all about! We are raising awarness for allthings LOCAL...leading the way is Slow Food Charlotte...

What is Slow Food?

Slow Food is an idea, a way of thinking as well as living and a way of eating. It is a global, grassroots movement with thousands of members around the world that links the pleasure of food with a commitment to community and the environment.

Slow Food is an international movement founded by Carlo Petrini in 1986. It strives to preserve traditional and regional cuisine and promotes farming of plants, seeds and livestock characteristics of the local ecosystem. It was the first established part of the broader Slow movement. The movement has since expanded globally to over 100,000 members in 132 countries.

A portion of the proceeds will go to Slow Food Charlotte. This is the entire reason for doing a dinner such as this.

This is our entire reason for what they do at The Ballantyne Hotel & The Gallery Restaurant and what Goood Eats & Meets is trying to get across....www.slowfoodcharlotte.org/... will give everyone a truly unique perspective about products from our backyards. ***ATTENTION*** The cost is $75 plus tax and tip...

We will also be planning farm tours, picnics and dinners on the farm...stay tuned!

Is there a reason why the meetups are all in Charlotte on weekdays? I can't drive 2 hours after work and make it on time to the dinner and then drive 2 hours home and have work the next day. Just curious. Sounds like a great dinner and I'm sorry that I can't attend.
