Designers Sessions

The "Designers Sessions" series of events will revolve around game designers of all stripes coming together. We will discuss our experiences and difficulties of developing the systems, mechanics and lore of our hobby. We will debate the pros and cons of game systems, and assist each other with problems in the games we are currently (or hoping to be) working on.

We will also play test games that designers are currently working on, or just play games that we really enjoy.

I'll be there with my game for advice and play testing.

Two main topics to cover for discussion: do we want two designer sessions a month, and what days of the week work best if we do? The GPS calendar for the room we're using shows Friday night, Sunday night, and Tuesday nights as the most available.

    Hey all,

Could I get the names of the two gentlemen who were kind enough to show me how much farther I still have to go with Hoedown this last session? Jeff, I already have you down as a playtester, but there was another gentleman (the one mostly interested/experienced in App deveolopment) who playtested the very first time and whose name I do not have.

    Thanks,

I have an idea for a game, no prototype yet. There are a few different avenues I am thinking of going. It could possibly work as a RPG with a GM or as something similar to Descent: Journeys in the Dark. It would be great to talk to someone about it.

If those who know they'll have something ready to playtest want to post a blurb about it, we can get a better feel for how short to keep the discussion.

And I have another potential design to try, if I can finish the one play test kit. This one is a dice game, but you are bidding for the right to pick dice before your fellow players. When a player runs out of chips, the game ends and the player with the most chips wins.

The latest version of my game about standing in line is ready to be scrutinized by good critics. I've worked to speed up play time, reduce repetition, and add more choices. A four player game may still take an hour though, just like the last line you stood in. We need not finish of course.

Hello everyone! I have one quick dice game (15 min) 4 player that is ready to try and has been tested by a few other people so I know it works now just testing peoples reactions and fine tuning. I also might have a pick up and deliver pizza themed tile placement game ready. plays up to 5 and take 30 minutesish i think. I have a new version that needs a test to make sure it is not broken, which is why i may or may not have it ready for this meet up.
