I have always been really interested in getting into board games, but nobody I really know seems to deem it a worth while endeavor. That along with my social anxiety keeps me from getting involved. lol

How patient is this type of group/event with somebody who hasn't really played any of these more involved type of games? I am into get involved in whatever and I like stuff involving creativity and strategy.

As with every group, some are patient and some are pushy and some are in between. But in general everybody likes to introduce people to their favorite games and will be happy to teach. If you see me there, I'll promise not to be pushy. :)

Anyone interested in playing Pathfinder Adventure Card Game in campaign mode? Possibly do an adventure or two each open session. As much as I like playing one off adventures I want to try the campaign mode to grow a character over time to see how it plays.

From Mike, he would like to start this game around 3 or 4 for those that were interested.

@trevor - adventures usually take 1.5 to 3 hours. When first learning it will take closer to 3 as it takes some time to get a feel for how the cards are played and interact. The adventured we played today we lost, but happens.I'll post in the next meetup sooner so as to gin up some interest. I normally play from about noon to 8 so I'm good for any time in between that.

I haven't been here before - what is the policy regarding bringing in food? Any options available on the premises?

    January 4, 2014

    • Steven T

outside food and drink are fine. there's a potluck table that people bring stuff to share. the event has some pop and snacks available for sale. most are 50 cents (cash only) also have monster energy available for $2. there's also many restaurants in the area. I hope that helps.

Wondering if anyone is interested in some HeroScape. I have a bit of terrain. And one copy of most sets of figures. It's a bit to bring but if people are interested I could bring it.

I'm curious if anyone has Kemet and would like to teach it? I'm curious about it, as I have Cyclades and I'm interested in the crossover.

I will be bringing Dominant Species by request, so will be playing that at some point during the afternoon but would like to make time for both.

I have not been to one of these events before, but looking forward to trying it out. I'll bring some of my 2013 acquisitions: Mush Mush, Guildhall, 1775 Rebellion, and Forbidden Desert.

Will probably show up later, like 6 or 7 until close. As always, though, my schedule can change at the last minute depending on marital/parental factors.

I'll be bringing my Christmas present Guildhall if anyone is interested. We had a good time playing it last night at Davanni's. It's a card game but not a deckbuilder. Kind of hard to describe but you can find the rules on BGG. This is the original Guildhall, not Guildhall: Job Faire.

Last time a four player game teaching to everyone (and with it being my first play of Guildhall after having played Job Faire once as well) took about an hour and a half.

    December 30, 2013

    • Jason P

Oh, and if you're there when I am, Mike, I'll also have Small World again (as well as everything else I had last night). If I'm not and Dan Bronson is, he has it (just not the expansion, I think).

Does anyone on this list run Descent or Mansion of Madness games? I would love to find some folks who routinely run both/either and would be amenable to inviting a novice (and Lovecraft fan) into their sessions. Cheers,

    Gabriel

At the last game-a-thon we played Arkham Horror, so come on by, there's probably some people who have the same interests as you. We're all novices the first time we play a new game - me especially!
