Geek Physique Archery

Archery: The art, sport, or skill of shooting pointy sticks with a bow.

Whether you're an old hand, or you've never shot before, come join us as we launch a volley of pointy sticks at some familiar targets. Loki, Daleks, Cylons and Space Invaders. They're all fair game at our events.

Don't have a bow? Not a problem. Our resident archer has a veritable arsenal which he'll bring to the event. There are bows suitable for all archers in the collection.  If you have your own equipment, please bring it along.  No Crossbows: they are prohibited on public ranges.

Never shot before? Not a problem. We're happy to help you with the basics. It's all part of sharing the fun.

So come get your Katniss on (or Hawkeye, or Artemis, Merida, etc.) and join us for Geek Archery!

This event is open to all ages. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

NOTE: As this event is dependent on the weather, we will announce any cancellations by noon, the day of the event.

Hope to see you there!

It was so much fun. So glad we went, even with the rain.

Thanks so much to the volunteers that arranged this event, lent us their equipment, and stuck with us, in the rain. This was a great event. We enjoyed it as a family.

Thanks to everyone who made it today. It was a great turn out, especially with the weather. I hope everyone had as fun a time as I had. For everyone who didn't show up today, I hope to see you at the next event. That'll be in two weeks. Same bat time, same bat place. :D

Another awesome event! Wasn't able to bring the pup as the rain would not have been good for the smell in the car.

I only made a brief appearance. Looked like fun, but a rather daunting turnout, and it was drizzling out. I'll be back for one of the future scheduled dates instead.

It's a little too soggy for me. Sorry. Catch you next time

The husband is tagging alone also. We're still planning on this!

I've been checking the weather maps and seeing how the rain is developing and where they expect it to be. Looks like the rain will be dying off around 2-2:30. As such, I'm going to call it a tentative go. I'll be there at 2. Hope to see you all there.

I'm coming from Rochester and thus have to leave now (preferably 20 minutes ago). Hopefully when I get there, I'll find an actual go.

Looks like it is going to clear up right around when archery starts according to the hourly forecasts I checked.

Still determining what the weather looks like. Will get back in 20 minutes.

Hope you're not going to let a little light rain cancel the event...

Sorry, have to cancel last minute, but I would still like to check this out at a later date.

Looking forward to checking this out. I'd like to find out where the best archery store is around here. No gear yet.

I personally go to Bwana Archery in Little Canada. Otherwise, I will have a slew of bows available at the event. :-)

Anyone have any favorite shops to buy a new bow string? I also may want to hire someone to help restore an old bow to its former glory... looking forward to this weekend.

I got my bow at Bwana Archery in Little Canada, they have a nice selection of stuff, I'm sure they can help you.

Bwana is where I'd go. You can get them at most sporting good stores, but having a knowledgeable staff sure is nice to have.
