2013 Season Information Coming Soon!
Gemma & Friends is a drop-in play group for small to medium sized dogs located on the north side of Edmonton.
The meetups are held in a fenced, outdoor area during the spring/summer to allow dogs to play without the worry of them running off. There will be communal water bowls as well as some basic agility equipment available at each meetup.
As the group is geared towards small and medium sized dogs, the maximum weight allowed is around 30 pounds/dog.
Drop-in fee is $5 per dog. There is no annual fee.
Please read all of the group rules before attending a meetup.
Group Rules:
•All dogs must be vaccinated. Proof of vaccines of DHPP/DAPP and Rabies in the form of a veterinary certificate must be presented before dogs may participate. Titers will be accepted for DHPP/DAPP.
• All dogs must wear their City of Edmonton (or surrounding areas) registered dog license tag at all times while in the fenced meetup area.
• For the safety of all dogs, “quick release” collars must be worn. This allows the collar to be removed easily if a dog should get tangled in it while playing.
• Dogs must be in good heath to attend meetup events. If your dog is ill, please leave them home for the protection of the other members' dogs. Female dogs in heat may not attend meetup events.
• Children under the age of 18 years of age must be supervised by an adult 18 years of age or older, at all times. Members must be present while their dog is in the play group. This is for the safety of both the members and the dogs.
• Dogs must be kept under control at all times. For the safety of all attendees, aggressive or extremely fearful behaviour is not accepted. If a situation involving aggression occurs, the behaviour will be evaluated. Gemma and Friends reserves the right to expel dogs at anytime due to inappropriate behaviour.
• Be prepared to clean up after your dog so that we will continue to be welcome at our meetup location. Bags will be provided should you forget yours.
• If you wish to promote your business or organization in any manner at a meetup event, you must first obtain permission from the Organizers.
• We want this to be a safe, fun and enjoyable group for everyone and their dogs. We are always open to suggestions, comments and/or criticisms on how we can make this group the best it can be.
