Santee Geocache Run - 12/4/10 at 8:00AM

  • December 4, 2010 · 8:00 AM

Right around this time of year I really get the caching fever.... The outback has cooled down, the rattlers are hibernating... the caches are calling me! If you want to join me on a caching adventure then meet me at Picnic - GC1C5P7 on December 4th at 8:00 AM... If you RSVP with your email I will send you the route map. There is a cluster of caches just North of the Mast Parking Lot that I need to clear (See the profile picture!)

NOTE: This will be a fast paced hike, I average 3MPH between caches. This will probably be about a 10 mile hike and take 4-5 hours... I recommend that you be in good shape, wear proper shoes, bring lots of water, sunscreen and a good hat! I am a power cacher, you be like minded! Contact me for more information.

Those of you that have cached with me know what to expect. I hope to see you again!

Regards, Androyd

This was an excellent outing to experience Geo Caching with others and learn from folks with more knowledge and experience than myself. The group leader Andy was prepared with a course route map prepared for the outing and posted it on the site for us to download. He took a group photo and posted it on the meetup site afterwards. As usual Andy was supportive and helpful with members of the group. I look forward to the next outing it was a great time. Come out and give it a try you will have fun.

Androyd did a lovely job of organizing this hike. We got a good few geocaches along the way and a good hike workout too. Great if you are new to geocaching or want to meet fellow geocachers.

Awesome time 5 of 10 people showed up plus a little dog named Watson. It was cloudy & cool great weather for a hike not too cool or hot. The group found 20 of 22 that we looked for so only 2 DNF's not bad. There are still plenty left to find. We should do another group sometime soon maybe early January. Maybe others will join us to take in the scenic hills and valleys of this Sycamore Canyon area located on the West side of Santee. The Trail head & parking just off the 52 freeway.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
