Short Hike Around Quivira Basin

  • May 24, 2014 · 7:45 AM

Good Day,

The list has been quiet for a bit so we had to schedule a leisurely walk around Quivira Basin.

There are ten caches which are waiting to be found.

With all the fires and temps rising, 99 Squirrels and I thought a cool morning walk by the bay would be nice.

The invite is open to new as well as experienced cacher’s.

Keep in mind this is a holiday weekend so I would expect parking to be easier here then at the beaches.  By starting early we can get the walk in before the craziness hits later in the day.

We can meet in the Public Parking Lot across from Mall Rat's #3.  We will be in a Silver Toyota Sienna Minivan sporting a TB on the rear window.

We can't go Casey and the boy scouts are planting flags in the morning at Rosecrans national cemetery. Have fun!

Hi John. Hope you can organise something between 2rd - 30th August- we will be over from New Zealand on a 7 week California Geocaching holiday

I am sure we can make this happen. San Diego has a very active community so we can get hooked up with a number of people to keep you caching!

I am currently working to qualify for the PT/OB HoF ... so I'm a "maybe"

Thanks, Lynn for getting that clarification, I will need that, if I make it, I'm still not sure, but will TRY!

Apparently you have to be a premium member of Geocaching?

A public one is GC23AQB which is south west of where we will meet. Depending on your approach you will pass the parking area on the east side of the basin. We will be parked at north east edge.

This popped up at a good time - my old lady will be gone and I have nothing else to do on the 24th. I'd been wondering if there were other geogatherings going on now that I'm back from my eastern trips. I've done a couple of the caches around Quivira Basin, but haven't been there in 3-4 years so there's lots of new ones to do. See everybody there Saturday morning.
