Shortcut to Europe: European Union Embassies’ Open House 2013

Hallo Freunde,

Each embassy will be open to the public from 10 am until 4 pm on Saturday, May11, 2013, offering a rare look inside the buildings and providing a unique opportunity to experience the country's cultural heritage and national traditions. Free shuttle bus service will be provided throughout the day with stops at embassies and select Metro stations. The EU Delegation and the Embassies will offer authentic music, dance, food, film, art and fun for the whole family.

Transportation Tip: The shuttle bus is great in the morning, but you will spend more time waiting for the bus than checking out Embassies later on. :-)

If you are the sporty type – take the bike and ride around.  A lot of people did it last year.  Great if the weather cooperates.

Meeting other Members:  I would recommend to include in your RSVP where you are going to start your tour and others can join you.  Large groups are a pain to navigate.

German Embassy:  France and Germany will present themselves together at the Embassy of France again this year. Please keep in mind – last year the food and drinks were gone by 3pm.

Austrian Embassy:  As always a great location for small bits of Austrian Food (sausage, sweets, coffee, elderberry juice, etc.) Of course my favorite place to start the tour.

Viel Spass
