Hello All! This is the first of 3 Oktoberfest options that you can attend this year! Two are fairly far from the city (this one is an hour north of the city) and none are metro accessible that I know of. You will be responsible for finding your own transportation to each event if you would like to attend.
http://www.ftmeademwr... Located on Fort Meade, this Oktoberfest is open to the public and has free parking available. In addition to Beer, Carnival Rides, Games, and Food, "Heidi & Helmut Echo Band and Dancers" will be providing the entertainment for us! So, put on your lederhosen/dirndl and come drink, dance and be merry!
Directions to Ft. Meade Pavilion from Washington DC and Northern VA: Take I-95 North or the Baltimore/Washington Parkway North (295) to the RT 175 (East) Ft. Meade/Odenton/Annapolis Exit. Follow RT 175 East (Annapolis Road) approximately 2.5 miles. At the fifth light, turn right at the Llewellyn Avenue Gate entrance.
Procedures for the General Public to get on Post: The easiest way to access the Oktoberfest Celebration is the Llewellyn Avenue gate. (It is the first gate from the RT 32 exit ramp and last gate into Ft. Meade on your right if you are coming from I-95 or 295). You may be required to show a photo ID. It is barricaded in such a way that you will automatically be directed to The Fort Meade Pavilion.
