Give us a little of your background... What brings you here?

I am Senior Pastor of a German-American church called Valley View Christian Fellowship in Tacoma, WA (a.k.a. Deutsche Christliche Kirche - Tacoma). My wife, Brigitte, works with me.

How did you learn German? What level are you?

We are native speakers (although we are long-time residents of the USA and need to continue to practice our German) - I was born in Bremen and my wife is from Hameln - wir sind Weser-Kinder!

Favorite Bier? Favorite coffee?

Hometown specialty beer: Beck's Fav coffee: Aldi's German Roast

Lived/Worked/Studied abroad? Are you abroad now?

Have worked for German-owned companies, such as Siemens, Haendler & Natermann, ECH Will, and Dienes - taking many overseas trips with clients.

What's your favorite foreign word (and why)?

"Erlebnisse" - [transl. "experiences"] - because I am energetic and alive - I enjoy experiencing life each and every day that I am alive. That is why we embarked on this new adventure to move cross country and pursue our dreams.

Introduction

My wife, Brigitte, and I organized meetup.com/German-105 at our previous city of residence (Raleigh, NC). We want to connect with German-speaking people in The Puget Sound area. Check out www.gios.us for more details.
