    Someone had said that Augenglasern was never used in older or classical German, here is a video of an example. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7bR3bOA4hY . Brille (sp?) may be what's used now - great to know!, but this word wasn't of my making. I remember it well, as a cellist we all knew it as the "eyeglasses duo".
