The Detroit German Language Meetup Group

Once again, we've changed bars for the meetup!  Renshaw Lounge got great reviews for it's good food, wide selection of said food, and it's large numbers of beers on tap.  And parking is still free!  It is also close to a lot of folks in the Rochester/Troy area and only 1.5 miles from my apartment. You'll recognize us by the German Flag on the table! -Pamela P.S. The new "Inclement Weather Policy" is: If there is more than 3" of snowfall or the weathermen are telling people to stay home because of the weather, please just assume that the meetup is cancelled.

    Hello,
I'm from Brazil and recently started working at a German company. Speaking German is not required for my job, but I just think it would be fun to add another language to my skills.
Looking forward for tips on German classes. See you soon!

Hallo. I'm new to meet up, and rusty in my German. I'd love to attend. I was just wondering how long do these meet ups go...as I work, and could be up to an hour late.

They go about two hours at the latest, but people are in and out. Some people show up earlier and leave earlier, some people show up later and stay later. I'm pretty much always there at 7:30pm on the dot.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
