"German Heritage Day" Parade and Luncheon

The Alliance of Germanic Societies of Pittsburgh is sponsoring a "Germanic Parade" celebrating all the member societies on September 8, 2012 on Pittsburgh's North Side. The parade will begin at 11:00 AM at the Alliance Church on Union Avenue and end at the Teutonia Männerchor. At the conclusion of the parade, the annual "Recognition Luncheon" will be held at the Teutonia Männerchor from noon to 1:30 PM. The Alliance will honor two German-Americans (Ed Graf and Eberhard Müller), and music will be provided by Bill Dorfner. Tickets in advance are $15 and $18 at the door. Raffle tickets, as well as luncheon tickets, for a chance in a drawing to win $1,000 cash (only 500 tickets will be sold) are available from Ed Heinlein for $5 a ticket. If anyone wants a list of the 16 Germanic Societies in the Pittsburgh area, send me your email address, and I will send it to you.
