New Meetup: The June 2010 Pittsburgh German Language Meet Up

Announcing a new Meetup for The Pittsburgh German Language Meetup Group!

What: The June 2010 Pittsburgh German Language Meet Up

When: Tuesday, June 22,[masked]:00 PM

Penn Brewery
800 Vinial Street
Pittsburgh, PA 15212

Hey gang,
Well, since the Penn Brewery is back up and running under the Pastorius family (as it should be), I thought it would be nice to hold our next meet up there. And ... since the weather's nice, let's congregate in the Biergarten outside! I will unable to attend this month as I will be in Berlin with students, but I will have access to my email. If someone would be willing to volunteer and be the "reservation-maker," please let me know. All you would have to do is call the Brewery a few days ahead of time to give them out name (German Meet Up Group), the number of people and a heads up that we're coming. :)

VERY IMPORTANT: I have the RSVP function set up, so that "maybe" RSVPs are not allowed. I do this so that "definite yes" folks can get a spot, and also so I can give a definite head-count to the restaurants we visit. I realize that I, your fearless leader, backed out last minute for the last meet-up, and I apologize. That being said, 38 other people RSVP'd as "yes" for the Church Brew Works meet up, and only 18 people showed up. The Church Brew Works was initially a little worried about how they could accommodate us, and really tried to set enough tables aside for us. In the end, only half of us showed up. What I ask of you is, if you do RSVP as a "yes" for a Meet Up & you realize later you cannot go, please go back and check a day or two before and change your RSVP (and I know I'm to blame for this, too ... I'll be better!). That way, I can give the restaurant a better idea of how many of us are coming.

Hope you can make it, and I'll see you soon!

P.S. We'll meet from 6:00 til 9:00-ish.
