Do I really have to describe this? Midsummer in the city. Supersoakers. Bring it.
We'll start at Eakins Oval. The fountains provide the fuel and the central fountain is the main battleground. If we have a lot of people, we'll use the side fountains for sneak attacks and skirmishes. If you have a cannon with reserves, you can take the game down the shady lanes on the Parkway for tactical maneuvers and covert harassment of unsuspecting tourists (kidding).
This won't be a very long event, but come prepared to get SOAKED!!!
Bring: water pistol, supersoaker, waterbombs etc. Please let's make the water pistols only the clear, neon plastic kinds; no Beretta or Desert Eagle replicas, thanks. Don't want anyone getting the wrong idea....
No water balloons please. They are environmentally unfriendly and a mess to clean up!
You'll probably want to wear a swimsuit/trunks/rash guard and a change of clothes hidden away. Water shoes or sandals with a heel strap are a good idea; flip flops are not. Shoes with a good grip are helpful, like Keens or Tevas.
Please bring a light colored (pastel) shirt and a dark colored (black, navy, etc.) and be prepared to quick-change before we start (we'll have two teams.)
Kids: Age 10+ only, no crybabies (ok and that goes for adults too) This will be an adult's game at an adult's pace. Those marble stairs are slippery when wet...
Dogs: Not this time.
Parking: Anywhere you can find a spot! Free parking is available up Lemon Hill.
Weather: I'll cancel by 6 pm Friday if it looks like rain, or if the weather will be cooler than it usually is in July. May move it to the morning if afternoon thunderstorms look likely.
Post-battle we can go for coffee or a really early happy hour in Fairmount or Rittenhouse.
