Well, we've another cracker of a gig for you this month, featuring Lace Weeper, Sal Vitro, Valentine Black and I Am Niamh.
First you had Thin Lizzy, then you had U2, watch out for Irelands latest 'next' big thing....
Utilizing heavy guitar based grooves and quirky acoustic melodies, embellished by bluesy solos, a pounding rhythm section and deeply metaphoric & poetic lyrics, Lace Weeper are a band many have been waiting for.
There is no mystical power behind this. Sal Vitro are straight-up, honest Rock ‘N’ Roll. Their driving rock anthems with gritty bluesy vocals see Sal Vitro’s sound drawing each band member’s influences into their song crafting.
Currently in the production of their debut studio album due for release summer 2013, Sal Vitro have matured without losing any of their edgy appeal, with music critics commenting on how “These guys play way beyond their years”.
The future looks bright and Sal Vitro remain focused.
Valentine’s Day 2012 saw the release of, Kildare native, Valentine Black’s debut album ‘Desire Lines’ on Lewd Minx Records. Named after the natural paths made by people walking through forests or fields, it mixes the heart of Springsteen with the melodies of Bowie and the lush arrangements of Elbow or Arcade Fire. Folk and pop soaked indie-rock songs covering love, loss, modern Ireland and even murder! With thoughtful lyrics and a warm vinyl sound, it’s a wonderful introduction to the straight talking yet romantic world of Mr Valentine Black.
“Bowie and Dylan are evoked in a ten-track effort that swoons and sways with the best of them…Desire Lines is like a love letter to the power of the humble hook…as catchy as anything you’ll hear all year.”
