Very effective, hands-on approach. Clear and easy to understand lesson plan and teacher's progression.

The class isn't over yet, but I love the format so far.

    Jenny,

It's just because the class is "over" from meetup's perspective. If you email alexis at autfaciam.com, we can send you a paypal invoice and get you set up for the rest of class.

I can't mark myself as attending now. Is it full or did the event page close cause it's only set for today and not the full 4 weeks?

    April 14, 2011

  • Alexis g.

Yes, please download aptana version 2

    Hi Alexis,
For today's class you want us to download Aptana Studio 2?

    April 14, 2011

  • Alexis g.

    Hi Jenny,

Class 1 is all HTML, so if you already know HTML, you are safe to join us starting with class 2!

Is it ok to miss the first class? I just found out there were seats. I get totally lost with CSS so I need to do this. I understand HTML though.

    Ryan,

We don't offer classes on the weekends typically, but I do teach HTML/CSS on the weekends at NYC Resistor each month. You can find out more at nycresistor.com

Hey Jamie, what would the video be used for?

    April 11, 2011

  • Ji Eun (Jamie) L.

A question for GDI teachers, coordinators & students: would it be okay to take pictures and quick video of the class on Thursday (or potentially a later class)? Thank you!

Hello, I was interested in the HTML/CSS class but unfortunately could never make it in time from my current job to its location. I was wondering if you ever offer the class on weekends? Or at any other locations?

    Hi Allison,

We'll be offering a stand-alone HTML5 class very soon, most likely in May. We MAY cover a little bit of HTML5 in this class, but the majority of the focus will be on HTML4.

Seigha - Last month's HTML/CSS was on Wednesdays and before that on Tuesdays. We rotate the day of the week each month so there's always a chance for students to join the next section if they have a schedule conflict.

I wish all the past meetups havent been held on Thursday evenings... I would love to attend but i have classes from 6 - 9 on thurdays... *sad face* Any chance of changing the day of the week???

    April 10, 2011

  • Sara C.

Kara - we are working on it! Would love to find a company that can do this.

Any chance the classes will be live streamed? I absolutely LOVE the idea of Girls Develop IT, and would like to take this series, but NYC is about 3 hours away from where I work. If it were streamed and the slides shared ahead of time, I would jump on board in a heart beat.

  • Alexis g.

Amanda, you can find the slides from previous classes here, which will give you a good sense of the material covered: http://girldevelopit.com/materials/

Could you please provide some more info on how advanced this course will be, and possibly any sample web pages to show the types of work we will be learning to do?
