This class will be taught by Jenn Deafenbaugh and Carl Tracy.
We will meet Thursday, August 15th from 7-9 pm and continue to meet on Thursdays through September 19th (a six-week course in all). (Due to the restrictions of Meetup's registration, we can't schedule multi-day events, so keep in mind that this Meetup event serves as registration for the entire class.)
What to expect
Understanding the basics of programming, while helpful, is not required. This is an introductory course and therefore will cover the basics of programming but is not an introductory programming class.
Concepts will be reinforced through hands on, in-class exercises. Each week will include a small homework assignment which will not be graded but will be evaluated with feedback from the teaching staff.
Class Preparation and Prerequisites
Familiarity with HTML and CSS is assumed for this class - you don't need to be an expert, but an understanding of tags, attributes and how to they interact with CSS are needed to fully participate. If you do not have an understanding of how to write and build a web page using HTML and CSS, please consider taking our Newbie HTML/CSS offering first.
Students are asked to bring their personal laptops to use if they have one. (Sometimes work laptops have limitations). If you do not have access to a laptop please contact us before the first class.
We also offer possible scholarships for students for whom the class fee is an impediment. Please contact the group organizer (Kim, [masked]) for details.
