Newbie Programming

Our newbie programming class introduces the principles of programming while helping you wrap your head around what "programming" is in the first place. We explore foundational concepts to set you on the path of learning how to make applications.

We will be taking our journey using Ruby as our guide. This class assumes you have never programmed before.

We will meet Thursday, September 13th from 7-9 PM at Improving Enterprises and continue to meet for the following five Thursdays (a six-week course in all) until October 18.

(Due to the restrictions of Meetup's registration, we can't schedule multi-day events, so keep in mind that this Meetup event serves as registration for the entire class.)

Students are asked to bring their own personal laptops to use. Please keep in mind that corporate laptops may have restrictions on installing software. If you are unable to bring your own laptop, please contact us and we'll see if we can work something out.

Do you already know what Strings, Variables, Methods, and Classes are? Then this is NOT the class for you. If you're interested in learning Ruby and already know how to program in another language, join the mailing list for Columbus Ruby Brigade and watch for updates. (http://columbusrb.com/)
