The GIS Education Center is proud to be a partner for the 2014 EcoHackSF.

If there are mappers interested in proposing a project to work on, we can discuss it here, make a plan together and then submit it (before the May 2nd deadline).

NOTE:  Please RSVP directly via so they know how much food to order!

EcoHack is a hackathon devoted to the environment, bringing together a diverse community of scientists, environmentalists, coders, designers and other doers to use technology to improve and better understand our natural environment. For nearly three years, the EcoHack community has been building tools, creating visualizations, and telling stories about our environment and the science that helps us understand and protect it.

Schedule: Friday we will meet for pizza at 6:30PM with talks starting at 7:15PM. Afterward, we'll go out for beers, get to know each other, and talk about project plans. Saturday we'll start at 9:30AM and finish around 8:30PM - just in time for more beers nearby. Food and drinks will be provided.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
