Bert and Tamra are putting their heads together to plan a fun-fun-fun camping experience Memorial Day weekend.  Our primitive (as in no electric/no water) campsite is 1 hour 10 minutes from Grand Junction. It has mature cottonwood trees, is tent and pop-up accessible, has a horse trailer lot just up the road, and has mucho fun things to do including FREE guided catch-and-release trout fishing (thank you Bert), hiking trails, mountain biking, easy access to rafting/canoeing/tubes, horse shoes, enough space for volleyball (help needed to find equipment), wildlife viewing, geocaching, sharing a brewski and the telling of tales around the bonfire, an awesome brisket BBQ (again, thank you Bert), handicap accessible pier, pit-type restroom, etc.  Dogs are allowed if under control at all times.  For those who actually want to shower, Delta is about 15 minutes away.

The campsite will be available on Friday and we'll returning at our leisure sometime Monday.

DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE GEAR!  There will be enough tents. We're gonna do the commune thing.  If you need something, ask around and someone else will probably have it.  One thing you may want to buy/borrow, though, is an air mattress.  Too many of us are pack rats, so I don't anticipate a problem.  Due to campground restrictions, carpooling is encouraged.

Here's how it works.  Once it gets closer, Bert and I will designate "teams" to grocery shop, cook, serve, and clean up for ONE meal. Other light-duty campground chores will also be assigned.  The rest of the time, you're free to do your thing UNLESS you really like to cook.

There's room for about 15, so we'll have to cap things at that number.  NO WHINING!  Come with a spirit of adventure.  It's gonna be a blast!

For planning purposes, we would like your RSVP by Friday, May 17 because there is ALOT to do those last few days.

We'll start the summer camping season with this event. Hopefully, there will be many more campouts in our future.
