We are developing after a break from services, so offer a limited service for the next few months while we re-brand and re-structure. Watch this space for more information as we get back up and running again after a break, new structure and re-development.
We are mental health professionals, specifically in cognitive behavioural psychotherapy and have experience in research psychology (particularly eating disorders) and mental health service provision in the third sector to directorship and consulting level.

We have also worked in many other fields of mental and emotional health, including depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, emotional dysregulation, and lots more. We incorporate various therapeutic approaches into our personal and professional services, including cognitive behavioural psychotherapy, compassion focused therapy, stress counselling, clinical hypnotherapy, schema therapy, mindfulness, person centred counselling, dialectical behaviour therapy amongst others. For general information about eating disorders, you can still currently view the No Bodies Perfect website in the meantime, as their website is still up even though they are now permanently closed (the NBP website will taken down in due course though).
Our experience in eating disorders, professionally began in 2001 involving a large scale academic study: 'An investigation into the impairment of psychosocial functioning in anorexia nervosa'. So we have been involved in the field of eating disorders for a while now, over 16 years professionally in various clinical, academic, voluntary, mentoring and training roles, and many years before that, with personal experience of an eating disorder.
Our experience includes as an academic researcher in psychology, assessment officer, director, chair of trustees, committee member, psychotherapist, trainer etc. We have been an organisation for over 6 years now and have had a break recently, now re-branding, re-structuring, with a new name!
We shall be incorporating as part of The Velvet Trail, in the next few months. Thanks for reading and we shall keep you updated about our established, new and emerging personal and professional services.
Unlike many other services out there, especially other eating disorder support groups out there, we are regulated, part of an accreditation network for support groups, have PVG's, insurance, belong to several professional bodies, have boundary and confidentiality policies in place and much more - so you know you are joining an accredited, safe, regulated and professional service, especially in comparison to many other 'services' out there.
We can help and support anyone who feels they have a difficult or problematic with food and eating - you don't need to have a 'diagnosed' eating disorder to get help - anyone who feels food and eating has become a problem in some way and is affecting their life, emotions, work, education, relationship or well-being is most welcome to get help and support.
You don't have to be thin, underweight, young, female, have eating disorder symptoms all of the time or be seeing a GP or psychiatrist for your problems - anyone is welcome to access help and support, whether formal or informal. Males and females over 16 years are most welcome to access our confidential, professional services.
