Yeongdong Grape Festival on Sept.2, 2012

  • Sep 2, 2012 · 8:30 AM

Hi everyone!

Let's go to Yeongdong Grape Festival on Sept.2, 2012.

Yeongdong in southern Chungcheongbuk-do Province is the largest producer of grapes in Korea. Every year, in celebration of its top crop, Yeongdong hosts a festival, where visitors may pick grapes in a vineyard or fish them out of a pool, make different types of food with grapes such as wine, chocolate, rice cake and more, and simply enjoy the beautiful scenery of Yeongdong Town all the while. It is a perfect opportunity to experience grapes with all five senses, and take some home at affordable prices.

Programs   Exhibitions
Fruit, wine (Wine Korea), Mayville Promotion Center

Food Court
Fruit market, local restaurants, grape specialty restaurant, grape foods (snacks, ice cream, noodles, rice cake, etc.)

Local mixed rice farm, flower garden, grapevine tunnel, balloon art

Local specialty market, Yeongdong dried persimmons, processed goods (grape juice, grape wine, etc.)

In the grape-picking program, participants may pick as many grapes as they want using scissors (provided at the experience center); picked grapes can then be bought for 6,000 won per 2kg.

After the grape-picking, visitors may then take their grapes with them to nearby Yeongdong University (in Seolgye-ri, Yeongdong-eup) to learn how to make their own wine at the wine-making experience center run by Grape Cluster. Lessons and supplies (including grapes) will be provided for a fee of 10,000 won; visitors bringing their own grapes will receive a discount of 1,000 won. Wine experts will assist participants throughout the wine-making process, ensuring that everyone has a great time and goes home with delicious results!

We will go to Yeoungdong by 2 cars, so I need 9 members to go traveling together.

We will leave at 8:30 am on Sept 02, 2012 from Hoegi station on Line 1 and arrive at Wine Korea winery around 11:00 am and look around the winery.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
