Sister Group Meetup: ICT for International Development

  • April 23, 2008 · 6:00 PM

The information below is from a related meetup, but NOT from the international health meetup. Just provided "FYI":

When: Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 6:00 PM

Where: Zorba's Cafe [masked]th Street, NW
Washington, DC 20009

-- Are there any opportunities for technologists in the international development field?
-- What skills do I need to get into this field?
-- Are my existing skills enough?
-- How and where do I find these opportunities?

These questions come up often in our meetups as well as in other channels. Here is a chance for the community to collectively answer these questions.

For the April meetup, we will have an informal knowledge sharing mixer at Zorba's Greek Café (which besides the ambience also has great food).

We can all act as panelists and share resources with each other on opportunities in this sector -- from where international development jobs are listed to sharing networking tips and job boards.

Meet and greet from 6-6:30 pm.
Knowledge sharing from 6:30 pm.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
