Summer BBQ Series #3 - Alki Beach Park

This 3rd event of the Summer BBQ Series is at Alki Beach Park from 1pm to 5pm.

Picture a perfect summer day, and chances are your thoughts will take you to Alki Beach Park, a long beach strip that runs from Alki Point to Duwamish Head on Elliott Bay.

We have reserved Picnic tables #1 and 2 which are located next to the Statue of Liberty at the south (Alki Point) end of the beach, and there you'll find the monument to the arrival of the first white settlers on November 13, 1851.

A little History:

Alki Beach is the site of the landing of the first white settlers in Seattle on a cold, stormy day in November of 1851. Chief Seattle and his tribe greeted them and helped them build their cabin to stave off the cold, wet winter.

The Statue of Liberty, a small replica of the original "Liberty Enlightening the World" in New York City, was a gift from Reginald H. Parsons and the Seattle Council of the Boy Scouts of America in 1952. The statue has become such a symbol of liberty and courage that it became a place to mourn, to reflect, and to leave mementos after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Friends and family are welcome to the event, and it is highly appreciated if you can bring extra supplies of BBQ items, e.g. plates, cups, utensils, napkins, coolers, food…

Please tell us what you plan on bringing when you RSVP.

Cost of the BBQ is $10.

BBQ starts at 1pm but we will be there from noon to set up, you are very welcome to be there early and give us a hand.

When you get there on the event day - first sign in with the event hosts and get your wristband, then enjoy all you can eat food and drinks!!!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
