Much better venue than last time. Thought the 'Pit' was too small though as it could only hold about 50-60 of the 193 attendees. Good talks - especially Lark Rising. Also enjoyed the free booze. Looking forward to the next one.

Always fun and good to see Glug back at the Basement. Be a real shame to lose this event, we should be supporting the organisers for arranging these for us for nothing. Thanks Crush & Agency Rush! x

A great night! Always a lovely and uniquely valuable opportunity to meet up with everyone else who's in the same boat as you are. I saw people I hadn't seen for ages, met many new ones, had a lot of hilarious conversations, heard a lot of relevant news, learnt a lot and got quite drunk. A fantastic night, a brilliant enterprise, please keep it up, we're lucky to have you!!!!

Despite having a bit of man flu I glugged my way through the night and yet again had a great time. Well organised, good talks, and i got out of my skull... which was of course hand painted when I woke up next morning.

Just received an email saying I should only rate this event if I enjoyed it! I didn't. I'm sure organisers worked hard to make it happen but if you make the event open to 200 paying people (even if that is only £4) and ask them to rate their experience be prepared for criticism! I also found the noise more suited to dancing - which there was none of - than standing around chatting - which there was a lot of until people drifted away. I guess that would explain why so many hung around the cloakroom area. I missed the talks as didn't hear them announced.

It was my first time at Glug, and I'd definately go again if I had the opportunity. The volume of the music was loud, but appropriate for the atmosphere that was intended, and I met nice new people without the help of any organised activities. It was hot, but I was wearing inappropriate thick clothing! I loved the talks, and thought it was fantastic value for money. Thank you everyone who contributed so much of their time to organising it!

Way better venue than the previous ones, hope it happens here again! Nice varied talks too, especially enjoyed Lark Rising. I'm quite shy and didn't speak to many people, but everyone who I did speak to was lovely and friendly, and the whole event had a good creative atmosphere. Looking forwards to the next one!

First time at Glug Brighton and LOVED IT! Usually with these things, I tend to stick to my own crowd and not mingle too much but not this time! I met loads of colleagues and friends, old and new, and shared some really interesting ideas. The Skull painters were brilliant! Bar was reasonably priced and frequented often (free drink was delicious!) I think I was one of the last to leave which saying a lot from a habitual wallflower ;) All for four quid?!? I'll have some more of that!

Good show chaps! Deffo coming to the next one and will try to drag myself away from chatting and drinking to get into the talks this time!

Had a great time. Enjoyed the talks and drawing, met some nice people the venue was best of the recent glugs. Not sure what anyone else was expecting but I see this as unique event that quite frankly, we're lucky to have. same again please

Glug 5 was great. Good to be back at the Basement as I think this venue really works for the event. Met some nice new people and had a go at some skull painting, which was a nice addition to the evening. The talks were great, the free drink was lovely, the temperature just right and the music spot on. Bring on Glug 6!

Great to be back at the Basement and lovely to meet a whole bunch of new faces. Big thanks to Carl and the others at Crush for putting this on as if they didn't make the effort there'd be nothing like this in Brighton and I, for one, am very grateful for the opportunity to meet fellow creatives.

Thanks to everyone for organising the night. It was great to be back in the Basement and though through my own stupid fault I missed the talks this time (sorry wasn't listening to the announcements) I had a really good night. Well worth the £4 and it did exactly what it said on the tin, its NOTworking people!

It was my first time at Glug and to be honest I was disappointed. I was looking forward to the talks, especially the one from Red Design, but I was unaware of where exactly these take place (i.e The Pit) and once they start and are full, entry is not allowed. It would have been beneficial if this was pointed out beforehand. Once I realised this I left Glug and felt I had wasted my time. I hope, bearing this in mind, I receive free entry to the next one as compensation.

Really interesting, plenty to do/see/engage with. A great Friday evening.

Big thanks to Carl et al who put on the event. Having only been to the Mike Diver talk I can't comment on the others but Mikes talk was very interesting, he's come into contact with some amazing characters through his career and it was good to get an insight into this.

Yes the music was a bit loud and yes the pit has a limited capacity but what do people expect for £4. The drink was worth that alone. Organising events like this can't be easy so I for one appreciate all the effort that goes on to get them together and look forward to the next one.

It's a good concept but it needs a lot of work. The music was too loud (but decent), it was difficult to chat with new people, the area for the talks had too few seats, and the talks were uninspiring on the whole. Having more stalls where people sell and show their work would make for more sites of interaction between people and give us more to do.

Nice concept but a wasted opportunity. The first talk put me off going back into the Pit to see anything else. The guy from Red Design must be used to pitching his business to clients because that's what we got too. They were once a small agency & are now working with huge clients - it'd have been really interesting to hear honestly about that journey, ie the lessons learned, the mistakes and the breakthroughs, the compromises you almost always have to make with client briefs & how you handle that. But there was nothing like that.

I agree with other reviewers about the lack of togetherness - the set-up of the event didn't make it very easy to network/talk to people. Nothing had been set up to try and actively encourage this (surely the point of the event) - and the music volume in the only place you could really stand meant you were only going to talk to people you already knew. The nice free drink aside, I am not sure what the £4 was for.

Interesting talks shame their was no chance for q&a however. But overall v good, nice to have free drink on entering.

Nice venue but very noisy and too hot, others said the same thing. Not having been before personally i didn't realise the first talk had started so I missed it. Would have like to see some of the work of the attendees.

I'm not sure Friday night is right for a speakers type event. Many people interested in it being just the end of the week?

Pretty nice vibe though it was was hard to chat to people because the music was really loud which made lot's of the crowd loiter around the coats and not in the main room. I thought that this was a bit of a shame because it then felt rather empty and made me want to leave early.
