Glug London presents - Glugski at the Russian Club Studios

After 4 brilliant events at the Queen Of Hoxton, we thought it was time for a bit of a change and a move. So for this one off smaller scale event we've gone a bit further out to the very cool and trendy Russian Club Studios.
http://www.therussian... Apologies straight away, that this is a bit further out (Kingsland Rd, in East London) and also that the capacity is much smaller but we wanted to do something a bit more boutique. After selling out the Queen of Hoxton event (700 people) we know this 300 capacity venue is going to mean some people can't come along so get your rsvp's in fast to guarantee a place. Please note: we're just charging £3 on the door for this, to cover material costs etc. RSVP for free here now:
http://www.meetup.com... Glugski - Live Art / Graffiti Event details Transforming the space and opening the door to the closed world of London graffiti, Paint Shop Studio will be taking over two rooms, creating a unique, collective piece created by Dep, Bonzai, Solo One, Tizer and Love Pusher. Solo One will also be talking about the art of freehand letterforms alongside a huge blackboard should anyone feel inspired...
http://www.paintshops... We are also excited to welcome Ian Stevenson and John Slade to Glug, two illustrators whose intoxicating work will be spilling over the walls of our third room space.

http://www.ilikedrawi... Doors open from 6pm, we have Dj Shucks playing all night and there's a bar created for us by the lovely people at the Russian Club serving beer, wine, and juice... As before our sponsors
http://www.digitalgur... will be buying some free booze again so get there early for some free tokens. In other news we'll also be announcing details of our much bigger Christmas event soon which we're partnering with charity Barnados on. This will be a ticket only event and probably much larger format again. Finally just a quick note of thanks to Laura & Gemma for arranging this whole event. It's been great to have a break on these. Thanks Ian (& Nick)

It was a fantastic space, everyone was really friendly and we had lengthy, fascinating conversations with a (male) jewellry designer, one of the artists and many digital folk. Great fun, and we will definitely be going to future Glugs!

The venue was interesting and quirky; the hospitality - helpful but not overbearing; the work exhibited - interesting, visually stimulating, relevant to the location, and contemporary; the artists - forthcoming and articulate; the other guests - friendly, chatty and fun!

I was a bit disappointed, I had imagined there to be a sort of graffiti battle and someone having a talk - will there be more things happening at the next event? Nice venue, though, and nice to catch up with friends. Will try the xmas one too. :)

Was great a great night in a fantastic space. The Russian Club is a really cool venue. Enjoyed the art and even better, ended up running into a friend who i'd met for the first time in Spain in July this year. I had no idea he was even in london. Got to meet some others through him as well. Overall was a really good vibe and the girls serving drinks at the front desk there were ace. Smiles all night long!! Goes a long way.

Seemed like a "muted" version of glug last night. Good to see people but the most exciting Glugs are when inspiring people/companies do a talk - so the audience learns something and feels like its worth paying for. Not quite sure why the entry was £3 last night? I think it was obvious that the venue was probably not as popular as previous ones. But generally, its a great event, keep it up! Cheers, Chris
