Thanks to everyone that came along to our D&AD event on Tuesday. Once again a great summer event and hopefully enjoyed by everyone. We've been so lucky with the weather so far, fingers crossed this continues for us next week...
I just wanted to make you aware of a new Glug development as we've recently agreed a new (5 figure), sponsorship deal for 2010/11 with creative recruitment agency Source
No doubt you're thinking, how does that effect me?!! Well due to the not for profit nature of how we operate Glug we'll be giving every penny of this back to you
! We're yet to tie down exactly how the money will be spent but this will largely be split across, lots of free drink (glug, glug!), lots of free food (yum, yum!) lots of cool giveaways (yes, please!) and of course better events. We'll also be asking you what you'd like to get from Glug this year and what you'd like us to do to keep moving thing forward. Feel free to post ideas on the meetup...
We're also really pleased that Jon, Annika and their team at Source seem to want to be involved for all the right reasons. I get the impression for them they feel it's a good opportunity to give something back to the
design community and hopefully add some real value to these events. So without further ado, here's a word from our new sponsors:
"We're really excited to be working with the Glug team and can't wait to get involved with all of the 'not working' events. We hope to be able to support not only the events, but also any Gluggers that might be able to utilise our experience and knowledge to their advantage.'Glug London to Brighton Bike Ride >
To get things started the Source team will be sponsoring us for our first annual London to Brighton charity bike ride, providing our very cool limited edition Tour De Glug t-shirts and also some free food and booze down in Brighton for all our gluggers. We're still looking for people to join us on the bike ride and have now over 50 signed up riders for this including teams from the following agencies.

We've also still got about 140 tickets for the Glug London to Brighton beach party event next Friday. Lots of people are planning on getting the train down and enjoying an afternoon / evening on the beach so hopefully you can join us too. We've got some amazing speakers including Airside, Conran Design and Mainframe
plus lots more cool illustration, animation and games. With over 600 gluggers it looks set to be a brilliant event.
The event starts at 6pm and goes on till late. Tickets are slightly more expensive for this at ?7.50 but that's because this includes entry, free drink and a contribution to our chosen charity Shelter! Hope to see you there!
