Hello and welcome back to another fantastic year of Glug! We’ve had a few weeks off at the beginning of the year and are taking January off as normal.
That said we’re keen to let you know about some of the forthcoming events this year so here’s some brief information on what we have in store and then also a bit more detail on our first event of the year in February.
Coming Soon @ Glug >

‘The Studio’ - a special project by Studio Output
Glug presents ‘Proud Creative’
‘Granimator & Friends’ - UsTwo
We’ll also be looking to evolve and change the concept over the course of the year and whilst the first event is back at Cargo we’ll be experimenting with new venues and formats.
We hope to see you there
Ian (& Nick)
Glug February Event - ‘Things to Make and Do’ – with Arts & Business
At the moment we’re still trying to confirm a few final speakers and artists for this but we can tell you the date (24th February) and the venue (Cargo). The evening will be hosted by Natalie Melton, Commercial Director of Arts & Business.
Already confirmed are:
Catherine has an impressive track record working with major UK names such as Habitat, Sainsbury’s and John Lewis. She has always been fascinated with provenance and last year took a UK road trip to get a deeper understanding of traditional making in the UK and its place in a contemporary market place. Catherine will talk to about the trip, allowing us to meet the makers behind the products and celebrate their skills with a focus on those who are last in a line of traditional makers.
Since 1998 Piers & Rory have produced over 50 major festivals of design, architecture and illustration involving over 1600 creative companies from 33 nations. Importantly, they have been showcasing the best of British design talent at international shows for years and have created some interesting projects. A recent one was botchit getting a bunch of makers to guerrilla make furniture for a show as a group project. There’s always an element of participation in their work so we’ll be encouraging the team to make or do something on the night.
Illustrators from Unseen will be creating live art on the night. Details of individual artists will be revealed in due course.
There will be a very cool and collectable gift for everyone who attends on the night.
As usual tickets also give you vouchers for some free food or drink on the night. By them here for £5.50 now
