i love food in all of its glorious forms, well, ok, so i don't particularly fancy the idea of eating bugs (no mealy worms thank you, i'll save them for Anthony Bourdain :)
But . . . beef cheeks, tofu, dragon fruit, limburger cheese, chickpeas, sweet red bean milk shakes, sea urchin, banana bread (with or without chocolate chips) and a million other delicious foods . . . are all fair game!
well, what about all of you out there who have an allergy or an intolerance that makes life uncomfortable? Particularly those who are gluten or wheat-free?
Many people who are gluten-free are limited by what they can find on the supermarket shelves. Some of you may not know how to "cook" or bake. Now don't get me wrong, gluten-free products have improved by-leaps-and-bounds in recent years, but who wants to eat the same loaf of frozen gooey rice bread day-in-and-day-out????? I remember walking through the organic section of the grocery store and noticing 2-packs of leaden puck-like rolls with an odd patent leather sheen (they are a little less leaden and shiny these days). PATENT LEATHER PUCKS BE GONE!
If you are new to the gluten-free diet or an old-pro, but sick of packaged products, come join me and learn about homemade alternatives. we will explore different way to use gluten free grains and flours in a "cooking class" format, all while we make new friends and building up a recipe repertoire to envy any flour eaters feast.
