What draws you to the study of Gnosticism?

I never liked the idea of losing my soul in a burning pit of darkness, on top of that, I never liked the idea that mainstream religion had the right or best answers, but this is over-summarizing things. I've always placed my bets on mysticism.

How long have you studied spirituality in general?

Serious inquiry for me goes back to my early childhood, but it was in my early teens where I spent a lot of time studying and thinking outside of the box the most, then when I was about 15 I began studying the old Gnostic texts they dug up in the 40's.

If so, what fields and subjects?

History, Christian history, New Age, The Nag Hammadi Library, articles and websites on varying matters of Occultism, The Tao Te Ching, The Bible,

What do you seek to learn from this group?

Ultimately I'm sure my goal is to understand myself in a way I haven't been able to up until now, this or to garner a sort of strength in myself with which to walk upright on the path of my choosing. Either way, for the most part, I'm just open.

What about Gnosticism do you wish to learn more of?

Mostly the practical aspect, techniques, mantras, practices, familiarity with tools that I can be introduced to, group practice.

What Mark G. is saying about this Meetup Group

New faces and a lot of enthusiasm for the content of the teaching, this was a good day.
