    He taught:
The Open Break (I think he may have called it 5th Pos break)
The Open Break is a movement similar to a Side Whisk to R. taken in open facing position with a LH-RH hold. But rather than dancing a Whisk, or foot crossing action on 2-3, man and lady take the rock step directly back away from each other. Ladies Underarm Turn
The Underarm Turn is a movement consisting of 3 steps, whereby the man dances a Side Whisk to L. while leading the lady to turn to her right under a LH-RH hold, completing 1 full turn by the end of the third step.
    Twinkle
The most basic Twinkle is best described as being similar to a LF Forward Change, where the man and lady turn to promenade position between steps 2 and 3.

And a traveling step that I don't know the name of where the lady does a series of 5th Position breaks and the man does a series of pausing point steps.

Patti , I think you will be fine. They usually review the previous week before starting the new turns. tom

You will have no problem at all and I'm sure you will enjoy the beautiful studio.

I missed last week. Would like to attend Sunday. I've had one basic waltzing lesson. Is it worth my time to attend Sunday or did I miss too much?

Can I start this Sunday or did I miss too much?

Dennis: I would definately give that feedback to the instructor. As John said, the instructor asked people to indicate if they did not know the basics and I no one said anything and I saw lots of affirmative head nods when he asked if people were familiar with the Waltz. Most of the women I was partnered with seemed to be grasping the material (the men I can't judge). I enjoyed the class.

March 9 was the first of four, Paul asked the group at the start if there was anyone there who did not know the basics and nobody raised their hand, so he then told us he was going to skip the basics.

I thought last Sundays lesson was really worthwhile, Paul is not only highly skilled, but really funny! (P.S. There were more leaders than followers)
