Daily spiritual practice is the gateway to satisfying, successful life. It builds continuity of mind, thought, and presence. If your life is not as you wish, or you are foundering spiritually, running from epiphany to being stuck, it is likely that daily practice is missing from your life. This study group will take us through T. Thorn Coyle's book, Crafting A Daily Practice, exploring what the components of a strong daily practice are and why it is important to have one. The study group will run 8 weeks. The book is available for download through Amazon, but it is not required to participate in this study group. Each study group session, we'll review the information in the chapter, practice a few of the given exercise, and talk about our experiences in establishing our own personal spiritual practice.

    ************From Thorn's Book*********************
"Oftentimes we resist that which we most deeply want, or that which will be of the greatest help to our life's intentions. This is different from assessing a plan or a situation and listening to the strong 'No!' that might arise. The resistance that I'm speaking of appears in all the ways in which we undersell and undercut our time, dreams and efforts. We become like a child refusing to take the medicine that will cure her illness; or the two year old, exhausted, throwing a tantrum rather than allowing his parent to put him to bed so he can sleep. Another image I like is that of a puppy dragging on the leash rather than enjoying the walk. What in us is like that child, or that puppy? What other parts of us have a great wish for the self commitment that daily centering, prayer, yoga, or meditation might lend us?"
