"The Fight Against Human Trafficking" by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs

Experts Susan Bissell and Somaly Mam join the Chicago Council on Global Affairs in a discussion on the horrors of global human trafficking and what can be done to stop it. 55 percent of forced labor victims are estimated to be women and girls, as are 98 percent of sex trafficking victims. The event will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel at 505 N Michigan Ave. Tickets are $10 for Chicago Council members and $20 for non-members. There's a cash bar reception starting at 5:30pm and then the discussion will start at 6.

There should be a Starbucks right next to the hotel. Let's meet there at 5:15 and venture over together at 5:30. If you're not able to meet us at Starbucks, look for me at the hotel -- I'll be wearing a small Go Girl pin.

Looking forward to seeing your lovely faces!

Hi everyone! Just a note about purchasing tickets-- I'll be getting my ticket at the door, so there should be plenty of opportunity to do that. Hope to see you all on Monday!

Wish I had time to attend. Somaly Mam is a wonderful woman whose life story is remarkable. I've had the good fortune to introduce her at prior events in Chicago and referred several former interns to work with her organization in Cambodia. It will be a great event for those contemplating attending - Somaly is a very inspirational speaker. Truly.

I have plans this evening, but am trying to push them as I'd love to hear Ms. Mam speak!

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
