Kizomba Workshop @ BloomBars

66 people came out the 2nd time for what has become the most popular Kizomba workshops in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area! Every 1st Saturday of the month, we're hosting a special 2 hour Kizomba Workshop & Dance Social at BloomBars!

• All levels, no experience necessary
• Dance Class 4pm - 6pm
• Dance Social 6pm - 7:30pm (dance freely!)
• Bring your friends, family, & significant others BUT no partner is ok

Interest in Kizomba is growing rapidly! Kizomba is a slow, sensual, fluid dance – a sort of oozing and swaying around the dance floor that can only be described as a pleasure to watch! Originating in Angola in the eighties, Kizomba is a mixture of Angolan Semba and Zouk from the French West Indies. Kizomba is most popular in Portuguese-speaking, or Lusophone countries, including Angola and Portugal.

Afrosensuality – in partnership with prominent organizations in the Afro-Lusophone and Afro-Francophone communities, is dedicated to promoting the culture and dance of Kizomba and Semba in the DMV Metro area.

Please arrive on time and take advantage of local parking or METRO transit.
- Garage @ 14th St, beneath Target/Best Buy
- METRO: Columbia Heights (also on 14th St)
From 14th, walk up 14th St, turn right on Kenyon, left on 11th – see BloomBars just past Wonderland

Hey My Dancing Loves! Some wanted to keep the Kizomba fun going after the workshop tomorrow so Afrosensuality will be joining a few other meetup groups for dinner and a little more music & dancing tomorrow night. The location is at 9th and U St NW not far from BloomBars. Dresscode is relaxed and the people, friendly! We will provide more information at tomorrow's workshop if you are interested in traveling with us. Hope to see you all!!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
