BASIC NEEDS: Food, Water, Shelter, Clothing
How do the choices we make to satisfy our basic needs for food, water, shelter, and clothing impact the health of our communities and our environment?
To foster dialogue around some of today’s most pressing - and most tangible - environmental issues, The Ecology center is proud to announce our first Summer Speaker Series, to be held in San Juan Capistrano, California.
The purpose of the series is to provide a foundation for making decisions that have a positive ecological impact. Evan Marks, founder of The Ecology Center, says “My hope is that the speakers will inspire action surrounding these issues to combat a small piece of the ongoing environmental needs in our local communities and around the world.” To that end, we are providing a forum where the residents of Orange County can explore these crucial topics with cutting-edge thinkers from a variety of backgrounds:
June 18th: Food Michael Besancon, Whole Foods Market
July 9th: Water
Emily Pilloton, Project H Design
August 13th: Shelter
Matthew Miller, Appropriate Architecture
August 27th: Clothing
Erik Joule, Levi’s
Johnny Schillereff, Element Skateboards
Roian Atwood, Sole Technologies
Derek Sabori, Volcom V.Co-logical Series
Join us for an evening of conversation, 6:30-9PM, wine, beer, and light fare.
Registration for these unique events is $15/members, $25/non-members. Guests can sign up via our website – www.theecologycenter.org, or call [masked].
