Rick Wilson, Coastal Management Coordinator with Surfrider Foundation, will share information about water pollution at our beaches and discuss solutions that are being implemented. Additionally, he'll tell us what we can do individually to make the water cleaner and healthier for the marine ecosystem. Rick Wilson, Coastal Management Coordinator for Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world's oceans, waves and beaches is a fourth generation Californian born in Long Beach. Mr. Wilson has degrees in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University and a Masters degree in Business Administration from California State University, Long Beach. He's a Professional Chemical Engineer in California responsible for researching and writing Surfrider's annual State of the Beach report and assisting Surfrider chapters with water quality campaigns. Additionally, he serves on local committees and task forces dealing with ocean and watershed water quality issues. Prior to joining Surfrider Foundation, Rick worked for over 30 years as an environmental engineer and environmental consultant here in Southern California. The evening will begin with an organic meal made with local fruits and vegetables prepared by Deanna Moore and friends.
