Design your own Terrarium with The Ecology Center

The Weather forecast is calling for rain this weekend... Why not bring the outdoors inside with our Terrarium design workshop!

A terrarium is a self-contained ecosystem, designed to mimic a particular habitat. In a sealed glass terrarium, humidity rises and causes moisture to move up through the soil and gather on the walls. This condensation then drips back into the soil, watering the plants which contributes to the humidity in their cycle of oxygen creation. Learn about plant selection, planting, design, placement materials, caring and maintenance techniques.

With a terrarium, you can add an outdoor element to your indoor space with little maintenance, while adding life and love into your healthy home. All participants will take home their very own terrarium.

Course fee: $10 members, $15 non-members plus materials fee* to take a terrarium home with you.

*Materials fee ($10+) is dependent on type of container and number of plants chosen at the class.
