Full Moon Rising-Bacchus Society Back Bay Kayak trip.
This Thursday May 27th 2010
One of the best ways to appreciate the Upper Newport Bay is to get out on the water, experience the tranquility and see pelicans, terns and egrets flying by you. And if your eyes are quick, catch a glimpse of mullet jumping out of the water. Kayaking in the “Back Bay” is fun and easy.
I am on the Board of Directors for Newport Bay Naturalists and Friends and have arranged a very special sunset tour on Thursday, May 27th, 2010. The tour starts at 6:00 PM out of the Newport Aquatic Center and is timed to return towards the sunset at just after 7:30 PM. We will have two amazing guides that will provide interesting commentary on the ecology and wildlife of Upper Newport Bay, the largest remaining natural estuary in Southern California.
Space is limited to 40 guests in 20 Kayaks. This is a great way to meet people. We will match singles up in boats to insure everyone has a great time. This is great for first time paddlers!
The price for kayaking is $22.00 for Bacchus Society members and includes everything you need. You must register and pre-pay to reserve a spot.
Our last event sold out quickly so reserve your spot today.
Immediately following this wonderful adventure, we will have a
FULL MOON AFTER PARTY at The Back Bay Bistro.
Everyone is invited whether you paddle or not!
The newly renovated venue has a beautiful view of the Back Bay and the Full Moon.
We have arranged special pricing for Bacchus Members.
