Theory Gophers

Hello Gophers,

this month’s meetup we are going to be more conceptual than practical! We are going to meet at the New SoundCloud HQ on Friday, August 16th at 7pm.

Since there seems to be a lot of confusion and it has come up at our meetups in the past, David Lehmann offered to give us a comparison of the theoretical models of concurrency (think CSP, Pi calculus, Actors, etc) and how that plays into the whole Go vs. Erlang debate.

Alexander Simmerl, back in action, will give us an in-depth analysis of concurrency patterns and their respective usage in Go.

As always, we will have our 5 minute presentations, although we will keep an closer eye on the clock this time around.

If you want to have a longer presentation, feel free to contact us.

Until then,

the Organizers
