The Elder Gopher

Dear fellow Gophers,

here's the official announcement to what has been teasered the last time we met. Andrew Gerrand from Google's Go Team in Sydney offered us to visit Berlin on February 4th, 2014, coming straight from FOSDEM in Brussels. We are very happy about this and look forward to this event ourselves. Andrew will talk about the coming changes and plans for Go 1.3.

Another guest we will have on the stage that night is Felix Geisendoerfer. He is using Go to control a Parrot AR Drone 2.0 over the network and also attempts to replace its original firmware with one that is written in Go.

We hope to draw a big crowd so spread the word and share the event. For the first time we will be meeting at the Google Office Berlin, which will be able to accomodate us with sufficient seats and WiFi.

As always, RSVP if you want to come and un-RSVP if you can't make it. We have a limited amount of seats and a waiting list.

Looking forward to see our memebers and new faces,

the Organizers

    Wonderful evening.
I also really liked the presentation on the Go programming of the drone.
A little too much. I ordered a drone...

Does anyone know where I could buy some Gophers like this? Or what shipping method should I use so that I don't pay $210 for 3 Gophers (currently I've chosen INT Economy as it seems to be the one for shipping internationally).

    Thanks :)

Maybe we can arrange a group order. We have some contacts that could help. Let's talk about this next week.

For management purposes, we had to reopen RSVP. It will stay open for a short time.

Please use this window to update your RSVP. Again: If you are NOT able to come to the meetup, update your RSVP to NO so someone from the waitling list can get your spot.

The topic of the talks have been added to the description. We are reached our limit and are looking forward to this huge event.

    See you then :)

RSVP will close Jan 25, 7:00 PM. At that point the attendee list is considered *final* and will be sent to the Google Office. You have to be on the list to be able to join the event.

If you're not able to make it, please un-RSVP now so that people from the waiting list have a chance to move up.
