Personally I was quite disappointed to find that eating the food was far more important than tasting the wine. The host gave a very brief commentary in the middle of the dinner. I should have preferred him to talk about each wine as it was presented. Then again, I come from a different school of thought which is non-commercial. In the distant past the whole idea of the Wine Tasting was to discover wines which would be worth purchasing because of their taste. I think we all know by now, that the price has little to do with one's personal enjoyment of the drop. Despite all of that, the company at my end of the table was excellent and we seemed to agree that the Reds were disappointing despite their lofty prices, whilst the whites were lovely to drink and the real Champagne a delight. Keep Exploring Amherst

Hi Roger, thanks for the welcome message! Both my husband and I are very keen to join one of your wine nights. Unfortunately we are away for your March tasting, but we're hoping to get along to one very soon!
hi roger... there still seems to be a double up on my profile... i actually get two rsvp options on calendar.. one shows me as having said yes the other shows me as not having rsvp'd... i am confused. people will think i am schizophrenic! lol... also, what is involved in hosting a tasting? i am determined to make it to the next one..looking forward to it very much. cheers, barb
Sorry Roger, i had planned to come to wine tasting after a housewarming bbq at coombabah but my 15yo has decided to come to bbq with me - it starts at 2pm - and the logistics of taking my teenager home from coombabah to carrara in order to be back at labrador by 6.30 will not only mean a lot of travelling but i realise absolutely no drinking at the bbq... i have only just realised the clash of dates. i thought the bbq was sunday. i am sorry, but i won't be at the wine tasting. really sorry.
hiya.. just a query.. i have rsvp'd yes and it shows me as having said yes but in the bit underneath where it says 'not rsvp'd yet' i appear there as well... there is only one of me and i am coming :) cheers...
Thanks, looking forward to when I can join in.
