MongoDB for Node.js Study Group

I'm going to be doing this free online course with Mongo University in October:

I was enrolled in their last course but didn't keep up with it because of work commitments so would like to do it the next time around.

Would anyone like to join me in a study group working together through the material and giving each other moral support?

Note: There is a commitment of about 5 hours a week to do this course - my proposal is to have this meetup as a bit of a drop-in, not necessarily where we watch all the coureware.

(this meetup moved from the gctechspace meetup to here. I've also moved it to Wednesday as the new material comes out on Mondays US time and we'll need a bit of time to look at the courseware before meeting)

Is anyone running Node.js on Windows? Is it running ok?

Not sure how far into node you are, but running it will have no output unless you tell it to write to a location (console, tcp, etc) in your main script. Email me at [masked] if you want some help.

Hi, Has anyone installed MongoDB on Windows 7 - 64-bit? I installed version 2.4.7 and created a folder called mongodb with subfolders /data and /data/db.

    Did you successfully run mongod?

So I am guessing this is weekly until the course is complete?

takes about 5 hours to complete the course per week - we obviously can't do this every week face to face but I thought it might be a good way to connect with others doing the course.
