Ready to give underwater photography a try? Or brought a camera underwater and want to improve your photos?

Monica Schandel, PADI Instructor and PADI Digital Underwater Photography Instructor, and Jason Spitz, PADI Divemaster, and an underwater photography specialist, will jointly teach the PADI Digital Underwater Specialty Certification.

  • Getting great underwater photos with and without a strobe

  • Getting great colors

Following the Thursday evening lecture, you'll join Monica and Jason on

two beach dives on Saturday morning 5/4.

You'll practice skills covered in the lecture and focus on some specific assignments to improve your photographs. Between dives, we'll take time for lunch and a quick review of everyone's photos

Upon completion of the course, you'll receive the PADI Digital Underwater Specialty II rating. This course is geared for new to advanced beginning photographers. Jason is available for private/semi-private courses for advanced photographers or those wishing to learn more advanced techniques.

In order to make the most of this class, Jason and Monica request that all students provide their camera/housing MAKE and MODEL one week prior to the class. If you're shooting with a DSLR, please let us know what lens and housing you will be using during the class.

Small class sizes, with two teachers, ensure you'll receive individualized attention focused on your needs!

Great class! Thank you Jason and Monica for sharing your knowledge and getting me excited about photography again. I recommend this class for anyone who is new to underwater photography or needs some motivation to take it to the next level.

Unfortunately, the water viz will not be cooperative tomorrow for photography. Monica is on diveboat today and has confirmed very poor visibility in the area. We'll need to reschedule our photo dives. How does everyone look for next Saturday May 11?

Jason and Monica did a great job! I learned so much. I was very impressed with their knowledge and experience on the subject. They were very prepared and even researched the students cameras before class to get familiar with everyone's setup. All the students were beginner underwater photographers so most of the class was about the fundamental basics. It was obvious that their knowledge went far beyond what we covered. I would recommend this class to anyone. If you are using a cheap point in shoot or a high end setup with all the bells and whistles, Jason and Monica will have you taking better photos!

    Hi PADI Underwater Photo participants,
Monica and I look forward to seeing you on Thursday evening. Please read the textbook and complete the knowledge reviews prior to Thursday evening. The Underwater Photo Pack is available at Gold Coast. Also, please email us ASAP with the camera and housing you will be using during the class. As each system is different, this allows us to research your individual unit and customize recommendations for you.
