All - it is cart path only today so I won't be able to come (to hard on my knees). I have called the pro shop and let them know - it does not impact the tee times. Sun is expected so enjoy the day.

You guys are all set for Sunday. I called Black Swan and dropped the 12:20 tee time since there will be only 7 of you. You have 12:30 and 12:40pm. Maybe an extra 10 minutes into the afternoon will help dry out the course a little more for you ;) Have fun!

Ok kids, here’s the deal for this weekend (per the email I sent to those of you who have signed up):

I won’t be playing Sunday, but I don’t mind leaving the tee times for you all to enjoy! I will double-check the RSVPs here for Black Swan tomorrow (Saturday) morning and will call the course to adjust the reservations for Sunday if there are any cancellations among you

So, PLEASE adjust your RSVPs accordingly on this site for Black Swan if you are not committed to playing on Sunday regardless of weather. Cancellations less than 24-hours in advance make for a cranky meetup coordinator, but more importantly, an annoyed Pro Shop.

If you happen to be available Memorial Day Monday, I will post some other tee times on the site shortly for Hickory Hill.

Thanks everyone and please enjoy! :)

I'm good unless it gets real bad. Weather has been wrong more than right so I'm up for trying it right now.

    Hi Michelle,
Unless it's pouring, I plan to show up. If I can play 18, great or maybe just 9 if anything. I not a real die hard golfer, but the weathermen seem to be more wrong than right.

Keeping an eye on the weather for Sunday (56 degrees and showers currently)...may call the club on Saturday morning if forecast doesn't improve by Friday evening and cancel event. Feel free to post your thoughts here and let me know what y'all are thinking.

    Hi Jody,

I play Middleton with friends on Tuesday and/or Wednesday. There are no holes over 200 yards at MGC. Out of 18 holes at Black Swan, there are only 5 under 300 yards. and a couple around 500 yards. Unless you feel very comfortable with your driver and 3 wood, you may not find a long course enjoyable yet. You might want to play "best ball" at Black Swan. If you feel that you are not keeping up with your group, just pick up your ball and drop it near the others'. That way you can get a feel for a longer course, meet the group, and have some fun!

I'm a beginner golfer and wondering if this would be a course for me?

I play at a Par 3 on a beginner golf league (scramble/best ball)...I have lost a few balls, have good hitting days and days that I can't get the ball further than 5 feet in front of me. I just don't want other golfers to get frustrated with me, and believe me, I understand because there are days I am frustrated with myself!

All I can say Jody is, I have been playing this game for thirty somthing years, and I still have days like that.

    Hi Jody,

Welcome to the group! I think this particular course might be a frustrating one for beginner golfers, only because there are water or environmental hazards on almost every hole (I've played here many times before, so I feel like I just need to give fair warning - lol!)

That being said though - I don't think many of us in this meetup would consider ourselves great golfers by any means! So if you don't mind losing a few balls and just keep pace, it's a beautiful place to play.

I might also be around Monday (5/27) though and may see if anyone has any interest in playing a more leisurely 9-holes then. People are always posting stuff here, so if you don't decide to join us Sunday, I'm sure there will be plenty of other opportunities!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
