Hey there, goodniks;
I apologize for the summer haitus, but much of my work recently has been focused on getting my new project, goodnik.org, up and running. As part of that endeavor, noted social media strategist and author Heather Mansfield will be hosting an intensive five-hour workshop/training session as part of her nationwide book tour. Based on the recently launched book Social Media for Social Good: A How-To Training for Nonprofits, the training will cover how to work with social media and mobile technology to launch highly successful campaigns for nonprofit organizations and causes.
The event will be held on Sept. 29th from 9:30am until about 3:00pm, graciously hosted at Meetup HQ. Because this event will be highly interactive, we're limited the attendees to just about 40 more spots total. This is a great way for organizations to get a great education on how to use social media and I highly encourage you to consider attending. The cost is $150 which goes to cover Heather's travel costs, with additional fees being donated by her to goodnik. More event details are at the grassrootscamp.org event website, so please check it out and register for the event as soon as possible, since this is likely to sell out quickly.
As for other events, we will be planning some starting in September when we hope to get back to our regular schedule.
As always, if you have any questions or thoughts, or if you know of an interesting topic that you'd like to see covered in a GRC event, drop me a note.
